When do I need a BER certificate?

A BER is commonly needed when selling or renting a home, when applying for certain SEAI grants, and when documenting energy performance for building or property decisions.

Do you provide BER for commercial buildings?

Yes. BER Assess provides both domestic and non-domestic BER assessments, including offices, retail units, leisure buildings, warehouses and mixed-use properties.

Can you help with SEAI grant documentation?

Yes. SEAI grant applications often require signed assessor documentation. We can advise what is needed and provide the relevant BER assessment documentation where applicable.

How long does a BER assessment take?

Timing depends on the building type, size and information available. For many standard properties, we can provide a clear quote quickly and agree a practical survey schedule.

What information should I prepare?

The most helpful details are the property address, building type, approximate floor area, age of the building, recent upgrade works, heating system details and any drawings or specifications you already have.

Can you explain how to improve my rating?

Yes. We do not only issue the rating. We can also explain the main factors affecting it and outline practical upgrade routes such as fabric improvements, heating controls, heat-pump readiness, ventilation and renewables.

Do you cover areas outside Dublin?

BER Assess is based in Dublin and serves clients across Ireland, depending on the project type, location and assessment requirements.
